Program Area: Disability
At the Moritz Center, we are committed to advancing research on how to promote inclusion, accessibility, and well-being for individuals with disabilities. Disability research encompasses physical, cognitive, and social factors that shape daily life, from healthcare access and employment opportunities to community engagement and policy support. It is influenced by a range of elements, including environmental design, economic conditions, and societal attitudes.
Our research takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding these influences, examining how policies, assistive technologies, and support systems interact. By studying these intersections, we aim to develop evidence-based strategies that foster independence, improve health and social outcomes, and reduce barriers to inclusion. Through our work, we strive to inform programs and policies that create more accessible communities, empower individuals, and drive lasting, positive change.
