Aaron Rochlen, Ph.D. is a Clinical Professor & Psychologist, serving as a Program Director for the Moritz Center for Societal Impact. In this capacity, he leads programing and research under the newly formed Arts and Humanities Division. Dr. Rochlen teaches several courses, including several UGS Signature courses entitled “Music and Mental Health” and “Movies and Mental Health.” Dr. Rochlen also has a successful concert series entitled “Under The Rock” addresses the intersection between music and psychology. An award-winning presenter, “Doc Rock” frequently uses music in his courses & clinical work.
As a researcher in the Department of Educational Psychology, Dr. Rochlen has co-published over 70 studies in the area of fathering, gender studies, non-traditional work and family roles, help-seeking patterns, and technology in counseling. He was previously President of the Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinities and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. Originally, from Michigan, his hobbies include sports, music, and misadventures with friends and family.
