Delaying Disability: Optimization of the Music-4-MS Intervention Based on Feedback from People Living with Multiple Sclerosis

This study refines and optimizes Music-4-MS, a music-based cognitive rehabilitation program for individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). Incorporating participant feedback, the research team will adapt a 12-week intervention using using small-step music learning and music therapy technique to improve cognitive function, reduce depression and anxiety, and increase accessibility to rehabilitation resources. Led by Carolyn Phillips (Ph.D., MSN, RN) with co-investigators Alexa Stuifbergen, Shelli Kesler, Heather Becker, Laurie Scott, Kathy Bolstorff and Leorah Freeman, in partnership with Angel Schroder Music Therapy, this project aims to establish a scalable, non-pharmacological approach to MS rehabilitation.
