Storytelling Through Music: A Novel Approach to Improve Well-being Among Homeless Service Providers

This project addresses a critical need within the field of homelessness services by targeting the well-being of frontline providers who face significant challenges in their daily work. Homelessness is a complex social issue, and the dedicated workforce of nurses and social workers who serve this population often experience secondary traumatic stress, leading to poor professional quality of life, burnout, and high job turnover rates. The purpose of this project is to understand the feasibility and preliminary effect of implementing “Storytelling Through Music” with homeless service providers to address work-related emotions, secondary traumatic stress, and retention.
