Longhorn Mentoring Program

This program is a partnership between the Steve Hicks School of Social Work (SHSSW) and the Austin Independent School District (AISD) that aims to reduce the risk of dropout among those who are at risk. The program recruits students from the SHSSW’s bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs to function as mentors to students in the AISD. Mentors are trained in the adapted XY-Zone curriculum by a foremost leader and trainer in the XY-Zone program.
